A cell culture scaffold of the present invention consists of seaweed-derived components and thus is edible, has a pore size and strength suitable for cell culture, and has a remarkably excellent water-retaining capability. Accordingly, even when a high density of muscle cells are inoculated, long-term culture and efficient cell propagation are possible, resulting in a useful use in the production of cultured meat.
