A meat-like food is produced by a meat-like food production method, the meat-like food production method comprising an extraction molding step for kneading a raw material comprising a protein and water together while heating using an extruder to produce a kneaded product and then subjecting the kneaded product to extrusion molding while forcibly cooling the kneaded product to produce an extrusion-molded product, in which the extrusion molding step includes forcibly cooling the extrusion-molded product in such a manner that the center product temperature of the extrusion-molded product at the time of being ejected from the extruder becomes 110°C to 125°C inclusive, and the water content in the extrusion-molded product is 45% by mass to 60% by mass inclusive relative to the whole amount of the extrusion-molded product.
