An indirect breeding method for a high-collagen meat goose. The method comprises (1) measuring the length, width, and height of sarcomas of young geese, measuring the content of muscle collagen, and performing linear fitting on the size (length*width*height) of the sarcomas and the content of the muscle collagen to obtain a curvilinear equation y=0.017x+0.026; (2) feeding goslings to young geese; (3) measuring the length values, the width values, and the height values of the sarcomas of the geese, and calculating the content of collagen according to the curvilinear equation obtained in step (1); (4) then sorting according to the content of the collagen from high to low, and selecting and remaining the geese having top 50% content of collagen as breeding geese; (5) after the geese lay eggs, incubating the goose eggs into goslings; and (6) repeating steps (2)-(5) for generation breeding. The breeding method is simple and easy to implement, and a new meat goose strain having high content of collagen can be bred only by measuring the length, width, and height of the sarcomas of the geese in each generation.
