A coated cloth for food packaging, which is composed of artificial viscose fibers and a styrene-acrylic coating coated on the surface of the artificial viscose fibers. The styrene-acrylic coating is prepared from 10 to 50 wt% of acrylic emulsion A, 50 to 90 wt% of acrylic emulsion B, 1 to 5 wt% of a thickener, 0.1 to 0.5 wt% of a silicone defoamer and 0.1 to 1 wt% of a palm wax emulsion. Coating a water-based styrene-acrylic emulsion on the surface of an artificial viscose fibers also solves the problem of the surface of the artificial viscose fibers having large pores and being unable to attain the effects of oil and water resistance, etc. Meanwhile, the coated cloth has good water and oil resistance effects, and may be used for packaging meat products such as sausages. Moreover, the coated styrene-acrylic emulsion is a water-based emulsion which is pollution-free, and the artificial viscose fibers may also be recycled. Therefore, the problem of environmental protection of existing meat product food packaging is also solved while good use performance is ensured.
