Methods and products for meat cell culture

Provided herein are methods for culturing animal cells in a culture medium comprising a culture ingredient that is composed of or produced by yeast. In particular, the culture ingredient comprises, consists essentially of or, or consists of, inactivated yeast. Also provided herein is use of inactivated yeast as a matrix, support, carrier or microcarrier for growing meat cells in in vitro culture.
