The projections 7 may be a series of ridges of part annular form having a ratchet like crosssection, or may be barbs (11) arranged in two pairs mutually at right angles and axially displaced from each other, Fig. 2 (not shown). Alternatively the end of the stud may be enlarged, Fig. 3 (not shown). The stud may be of polypropylene or plastics material.
