In the course of the first transport section (96), the blanks (29) are deflected into a second transport section (83) transversely to the first transport section (96) by a transferring element (81), and the original orientation of the blanks (29) in the region of the first transport section (96) is maintained upon being deflected into the second transport section (83) by the transferring element (81).
