YOGURT COMPOSITION HAVING EFFECTS OF INHIBITING RISE IN BLOOD PRESSURE AND LOWERING BLOOD PRESSURE AS WELL AS LOW CALORIE CHARACTERISTICS

PURPOSE: A yogurt composition having effects of inhibiting a rise in blood pressure and lowering blood pressure containing components having vasodilating effect, inhibiting angiotensin converting enzyme, possessing a diuretic action and reducing cholesterol is provided. The composition has a good taste and flavor while normalizing blood pressure, improving lipid metabolism in blood, normalizing a blood sugar level and retarding or preventing complications.CONSTITUTION: The yogurt composition having effects of inhibiting a rise in blood pressure and lowering blood pressure contains: 0.01 to 0.08% by weight of Enterococcus faecalis lactic acid bacteria, 0.01 to 0.08% by weight of rice germ extract, 3 to 6% by weight of indigestible maltodextrin, 0.01 to 0.3% by weight of YQ2, 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of low molecular weight potassium alginate, 0.05 to 0.3% by weight of whey protein peptide, 2 to 6% by weight of erythritol and the remaining of a yogurt base. The yogurt composition has the total number of bacteria in the fermented product in the range of 10^7 to 10^9 cells/ml.© KIPO 2006
