System for dispensing pumpable liquid foodstuff

Fuente: WIPO "dairy products"
A system for dispensing pumpable liquid foodstuff, e.g. dairy, into a user container 10, e.g. bottle or cup. The system has a replaceable container 110 for holding the liquid foodstuff. The replaceable container 110 has a port 120, a nozzle 130, and a tube 125 interconnecting the port and nozzle. The nozzle 130 has a flow dampener 140 for regulating the flow of product, e.g. reducing pressure variations at the nozzle to reduce foaming. The flow dampener may use baffles or vanes to create a tortuous path for the foodstuff and may contain a flexible membrane to accommodate pressure variations. The system has a dispenser 150 comprising a peristaltic pump, and a dock for removably docking the nozzle. In use, the tube 125 is passed through the peristaltic pump 170 of the dispenser and the nozzle is docked. Hygiene may be maintained because the foodstuff never contacts the dispenser.
