The method comprises the following steps: (1) mixing a dairy product having undergone digestion in advance with a chromium standard substance so as to obtain a to-be-determined sample; and (2) separately determining the contents of chromium in the to-be-determined sample and the dairy product having undergone digestion in advance by using an atomic absorption method and determining the recovery rate of chromium in the dairy product based on detection results, wherein a graphite pipe used for determining chromium contents by using the atomic absorption method has undergone ageing treatment in advance, and the ageing treatment comprises a step of injecting an acid solution or the dairy product having undergone digestion into the graphite pipe for detection and the step is repeatedly carried out 200 to 300 times. The method has at least one of the following advantages: the recovery rate of accords with standard; operation is simple; and high accuracy is realized.
