Information representative of a first program content is provided together with information of a second program content on a record disc 12 having a single spiral track. When an interactive section of the disc is played the player 10 is provided with two pieces of information so that it may track the correct information. One piece is provided by the system user who selects 31 the sequence to be viewed. The other piece is the digital information 26 on the disc which tells the player where the program being transduced is and where the transducer has to go to be in the desired program. In one embodiment, the spiral track is formed as a groove on the disc surface and the stylus cooperatively engages the groove. In a further embodiment, the first program content is interlaced with the second program content and a kicker is automatically operated to follow the selected program throughout the remainder of the recording, as shown by the respective track series marked by circles, squares and triangles in Figure 2.
