Tomato SlLOB40 protein and application of encoding gene thereof in regulation of plant drought resistance

The invention relates to the technical field of biology, and specifically relates to a tomato SlLOB40 protein and application of an encoding gene thereof in regulation of plant drought resistance. According to the invention, the tomato SlLOB40 gene is capable of negatively regulating plant drought resistance, so that expression of the tomato SlLOB40 gene can be reduced so as to have plant droughtresistance effectively improved. Due to discovery of the drought resistance regulation function of the tomato SlLOB40 gene, valuable gene resources and new methods for cultivating new plant varietieswith high drought resistance are provided. By causing mutation of the tomato SlLOB40 gene by utilizing a CRISPR-Cas9 genome fixed-point editing system, a drought-resistant tomato strain can be created; and the created drought-resistant tomato strain has significantly improved drought resistance, so that the drought-resistant tomato strain is of great application values.
