The tomato maturity degree detection system comprises a wireless communication interface, an image collector, a variety identification device and a maturity degree detector, wherein the image collector is used for photographing a tomato to obtain a tomato image; the variety identification device is connected with the image collector and the wireless communication interface, and is used for identifying a tomato variety based on the tomato image, and transmitting a tomato variety to a far-end agriculture and forestry management server through the wireless communication interface to obtain returned maturity degree data corresponding to the tomato variety; and the maturity degree detector is connected with the wireless communication interface and the variety identification device respectively, and is used for identifying the whole tomato maturity degree corresponding to the tomato image based on the maturity degree data. By virtue of the tomato maturity degree detection system, the whole tomato maturity degree is automatically judged through information exchange with the far-end agriculture and forestry management server; and meanwhile, the safety of the maturity degree data corresponding to the tomato variety is guaranteed.
