The present invention relates to a method for peeling tomato skin, and a tomato peeled thereby. In a heater at 95-105 deg;C, superheated steam at 150-200 deg;C is sprayed on the tomato for 10-80 seconds, and then the tomato is peeled. The tomato peeled by the method for peeling the tomato skin can solve the problem of the loss of nutrients in tomatoes treated by the conventional branching process so that the nutrient loss of the tomato is prevented. The storability can be increased by having an excellent functionality and enhanced sterilizing effect.
