A first embodiment relates to a flavor-enhancing composition comprising a cyclic dipeptide. A second embodiment relates to a method for producing the aforesaid flavor-enhancing composition, comprising heating a spice such as coriander, to increase the cyclic dipeptide in the aforesaid spice. A third embodiment relates to a food product containing the aforesaid flavor-enhancing composition. A fourth embodiment relates to a method for enhancing a flavor of a food product, comprising blending the aforesaid flavor-enhancing composition with the food product.
