The biocontrol properties can include treatment against plant disease or resistance to one or more plant pathogens. Embodiments described herein include methods of making a product in a bioreactor system with one or more containers. The bioreactor system can include a microbial biocontrol agent. The method can include operating a multistage bioreactor system by transferring into the system an aqueous feedstock that comprises a microbial consortium, transferring working fluid between containers of the system, and collecting a product. The method can further include enriching microbes of the working fluid with biocontrol properties.
