A soil-conditioning composition is disclosed comprising micronized smectite clay and zeolite fractions, each having a median particle size (D50) between 1 μm and 50 μm, and viable arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) propagules. The mineral components provide complementary swelling, adsorption, and ion-exchange capacities that increase soil water retention and nutrient buffering, while the biological component enhances rhizosphere colonization, root development, and soil aggregation. Synergistic interaction between the mineral and biological fractions produces higher nutrient-use efficiency and water-holding capacity relative to use of the individual components. The proportions of the components are selected according to soil-diagnostic parameters, including texture, cation-exchange capacity, and electrical conductivity, to achieve targeted conditioning performance. When reconstituted in water, the composition forms a stable suspension with an ionic strength below 50 mM and a pH of 5.5-7.5. The formulation is suitable for application in arid, semi-arid, or coarse-textured soils exhibiting low fertility and limited moisture retention.
