SINGLE CELL SEQUENCING AND USES THEREOF FOR PEST CONTROL

Provided herein are methods for identifying altered expression profiles in a population of plant pests that have developed resistance to a pesticidal protein. The methods comprise isolating a population of cells from each of a resistant and a susceptible plant population, and generating a transcriptome library from each population by performing single cell sequencing analysis on the population of cells. The transcripts are clustered using genetic markers associated with a single cell type and these cell type specific transcripts are compared to identify any transcripts that have an altered expression pattern between the resistant and susceptible populations.
