Said binder being an alkyd resin selected from those formed from C2 to C16 diacids, C6 to C30 fatty acids, and C3 to C8 polyols. The film or seed coating composition may also comprise agrochemical active, nutrient, or biostimulants. There is also provided a method of forming the film coating composition by combining said alkyd resin in a water medium, optionally with agrochemical active, nutrient, or biostimulants; a method of coating seeds, and seeds coated with said formulation. The alkyd resin comprising seed or film coating composition provides for desired binder properties and is water dispersible, whilst still maintaining good dust off and abrasion resistance, and having biobased and biodegradable properties. Said seed coating additionally does not suppress or hinder release of agrochemical active, nutrient, or biostimulant.
