Also disclosed herein is a liquid product obtained from a biomass material undergoing chemo-mechanical cellular explosion process. The process comprises combining one or more additives with a fibrous material, the fibrous material comprising water and lignin, and conditioning the fibrous material by applying a shear force to increase a pressure and a temperature, vaporizing a second portion of water in the fibrous material by fractionating the fibrous material, and exposing the fibrous material to a reduced pressure to induce the exploding of the plurality of cells in the fibrous material to obtain a liquid product.
