The compositions include chondroitin, for instance in the form of chondroitin sulfate, and one or more natural forms of choline, including for example glycerophosphocholine (GPC) and/or phosphocholine. It has presently been found that the combination of chondroitin and a natural form of choline synergistically promotes gut health, e.g. by protecting the intestinal barrier against inflammation and/or stimulating repair of the intestinal barrier after inflammation.
