In certain embodiments, the composition contains at least two polyphenols, wherein at least one polyphenol is a phenolic diterpene. In certain embodiments, the composition is a blend of rosemary extract and green tea extract. According to at least one embodiment, beet powder is added to the composition. One aspect of the present invention relates to a natural red color that is heat-resistant. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a natural red color that can withstand exposure to light. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a natural red color that maintains its color intensity even after prolonged exposure to heat and/or light. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a natural red color that is suitable for pH ranges typical of foods.
