The invention specifically provides fertile pepper plants and seeds comprising a genetic region comprising QTL1 located at 9.0-13.5 Mbp on chromosome 1 and/or QTL2 located at 199-218 Mbp on chromosome 10, wherein said genetic region enables the production of parthenocarpic fruit, seedless fruit, and/or fruit with seeds. The invention further provides methods for producing such pepper plants, as well as methods for cultivating said plants to obtain high-yield fruit production. Additionally, the invention encompasses the use of such plants and seeds and genetic regions for commercial pepper production, and the development of pepper varieties with improved fruit set characteristics.
