The method of preparation is based on acid-catalyzed esterification with hexanol and removal of excess alcohol by vacuum evaporation with the addition of water. The preparation method significantly improves the stability of the product and reduces the number of by-products, which are mainly manifested by an undesirable odor. The product is suitable for cosmetic applications. The invention also relates to cosmetic compositions containing indole-3 -acetic acid hexyl ester preparedby the method according to the invention, which are, for example, in the form of a solution, emulsion, serum or gel, paste, dispersion, powder, fine powder, or nanofibers.
