The method includes: preparing a sericin protein working solution with a concentration of 0.1 g/L to 0.5 g/L, and spraying the sericin protein working solution onto foliage of tomato plants. The method for improving plant drought tolerance significantly improve a survival rate, a biomass, and a water content of the tomato plants under drought stress conditions.
