Manual tip setters comprise a stationary body comprising a proximal end and a distal end, a hook comprising a stem portion and a hooked portion, the stem portion located within the stationary body at the proximal end and connected to a spindle extending from the stem portion of the hook to the distal end of the stationary body, wherein and the hooked portion is configured to hook around a plant part, and a moving body positioned at the distal end of the stationary body and comprising a leadscrew coupled to the stem portion, wherein the moving body is configured to move relative to the stationary body.
