The invention pertains to an extruded malted snack product, comprising, relative to the total weight of the extruded malted snack product, from 80.0 to 99.9 wt. % of a composition CP and from 0.1 to 20.0 wt. % of at least one organoleptic component, wherein said composition CP comprises, relative to the total weight of the composition CP, from 10.0 to 60.0 wt. % of at least one malted cereal, from 10.0 to 60.0 wt. % of at least one malted pulse, and from 1.0 to 25.0 wt. % of at least one unmalted cereal selected from corn or rice. Furthermore, said extruded malted snack product has less than 20.0 wt. % of a sugar content of monosaccharides and disaccharides, and less than 20.0 wt. % of a fat content, relative to the total weight of the extruded malted snack product. The invention further relates to a method for the manufacturing of said extruded malted snack product.
