COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PRESERVING EDIBLE COMPOSITIONS

This disclosure relates to compositions comprising preservatives for edible compositions and products thereof, and methods of making and using the same. Embodiments disclosed herein may include an edible composition comprising at least one unsaturated fat; and a preservative composition having a between 40% to 100% (w/w) total rice bran extract content, wherein the preservative composition is effective to: reduce at least an oxidation value of the edible composition such that the edible composition has at least 25% lower than the shelf life of a control not comprising the preservative composition, or increase shelf life of the edible composition that is at least 15% greater than the shelf life of a control not comprising the preservative composition.
