The coating composition for foaming beverage cans, comprises at least one film-forming resin; and at least one bump-forming agent, said at least one bump-forming agent being present in a form and in an amount such that, when the coating composition is applied on a flat metal substrate in an amount sufficient to provide a dry coating having an average dry filmweight of about 2 to about 8 grams per square meter, there are on average about 50-50, 000 bump structures having an equivalent circle diameter of at least 1 micrometre per square millimetre of the dry coating formed from the coating composition.
