Each of the plurality of food items can be inclined upwardly at an angle relative to the direction of travel of the conveyor. A stream of hot air can be blown downwardly towards a side periphery of the plurality of food items to remove excess oil from the plurality of food items. An apparatus relating to the method is provided.
