The aerosol generating segment comprises one or more sheets of an aerosol forming material, wherein the aerosol forming material comprises a carrier material and an aerosol forming liquid; wherein a first portion of the aerosol forming material has a first concentration of the aerosol forming liquidand a second portion of the aerosol forming material has a second concentration of the aerosol forming liquid, wherein the first concentration is greater than the second concentration.
