According to the present disclosure, the described methods can prolong shelf life of the produce, disinfect the produce, and/or decontaminate the produce. Advantageously, methods of the present disclosure can be used in a multitude of settings, including agriculture fields, processing facilities, and stores such as grocery stores and supermarkets to improve food supply of produce and prevent illness outbreaks.
