Comprising the following steps: acquiring tomato picture data sets at different maturity stages in a complex scene; manually marking the position and the type of the tomato in the image, and dividing the data set; the method comprises the following steps: introducing a Swin Transform into a backbone network; dSConv is introduced into the neck part; constructing a loss function of the improved YOLOv8 model; an improved YOLOv8 model is trained; according to the method, improvement is carried out based on YOLOv8, richer global context information can be provided, the model is more excellent in the aspect of processing complex scenes and details, and therefore the accuracy of the model for detecting the tomato maturity in the complex scenes is improved.
