The invention relates to spicy flavor prawn cakes and a preparation method thereof. The spicy flavor prawn cakes are prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 100 parts of peeled prawns, 3-5 parts of sweet potato starch, 5-7 parts of corn meal, 8-12 parts of bread crumbs, 3-4 parts of olive oil, 7-9 parts of yellow cattle meat, 3-5 parts of table salt, 2-4 parts of white granulated sugar, 12-18 parts of mashed potatoes, 2-4 parts of dried chilies, 3-5 parts of Chinese prickly ash, 12-15 parts of celery, 1.2-1.5 parts of green onions, 1.5-1.8 parts of fresh gingers and 0.8-1 part of plant extract. The prawn cakes provided by the invention are prepared by taking prawn flesh as a main raw material; a plurality of types of components including the yellow cattle meat, the mashed potatoes, the bread crumbs, the corn meal and the like are added, so that nutrients are more abundant and comprehensive; and plant extract is added so that the freshness and tenderness in the prawn flesh can be stimulated, and nutrient substances in the prawn flesh and other raw materials can also be prevented from being lost rapidly.
