In some aspects, the transgenic tomato plant expresses the ectodomain of RSV F protein. In certain embodiments, the fragment of RSV F protein comprises the ectodomain of RSV F protein, and the p27 region of the RSV F protein is replaced with a sequence-specific linker region comprising the amino acid sequence of GSGSGRSLG. Also described are compositions comprising an extraction from a fruit of the transgenic tomato plant, wherein the extraction from the fruit of the transgenic tomato plant comprises the fragment of RSV F protein.
