The disclosed approach involves a method for producing insecticidal toxin compositions derived from nematodes. Hie method includes activating nematodes using a waxworm homogenate, inducing the release of excretory/secreted proteins (ESPs), and isolating the insecticidal toxin composition. The composition, which includes proteins such as NIP-1, exhibits oral toxicity to pest insects, including Spodoptera frugiperda, and can be applied to plants as a spray. Primary-- applications include pest control in agricultural systems to reduce crop damage and improve food security. The described technology facilitates large- scale production of ESPs for use as protein insecticides.
