Particularly, the present invention discloses novel microbial strains effective in inhibiting the activity and/or development of plant insect pests, which are advantageous in protecting plants from deleterious effects of insects. Uses of these microbial strains as bio-pesticides are provided as well as methods of promoting the growth and resistance of plants to insect pests.
