The present invention relates to the use of aromatic alkyl carboxylic acids and ester derivatives thereof, or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof, to increase growth and/or yield of a plant, at any developmental stage, as compared to the non-treated plant of the same species and at the same developmental stage. It also relates to the use of the compound to further increase in the adaptability of the plant to biotic and abiotic stresses.
