APPLICATION OF DRIED SEED EXTRACT OF THE EASTERN LARKSPUR AS AN INSECTICIDE AND ACARICIDE

The subject of the present invention is a plant species that has not been used or cultivated for this purpose to date, namely the dried seed extract of eastern larkspur (Delphinium hispanicum Willk. ex Costa (1873)), and its new application as a biological insecticide and acaricide in agriculture and household. The invention also relates to an agricultural method for cultivating the aforementioned plant species, the eastern larkspur (Delphinium hispanicum Willk. ex Costa (1873)). The extract according to the invention is effective not only against pests visible on the plant, but also against phytophagous pests living hidden in the plant tissues. The extract also has an appetite -suppressing effect on pests and has a chemical signal that keeps phytophagous insects away for a period of time, meaning that after treatment, they either settle in un- treated areas or do not feed.
