We describe a method of cultivating a photoperiod-sensitive Cannabis sativa cultivar. The method comprises providing a vegetative growth period during which a growing Cannabis sativa plant is grown under continuous light conditions; providing a flower induction, pollination and seed setting period during which the plant is grown under short-day conditions; and providing a seed-ripening period during which the plant is grown under continuous light and water stress conditions. The vegetative growth period is a period of from 10 to 30 days and the flower induction, pollination and seed-setting period is a period of from 21 to 35 days.
