METHOD TO GROW AND HARVEST AND PROCESS HEMP SO THAT THE FRACTION CLASSIFIED AS GRAIN CONTAINS THE THERAPEUTIC CONTENT OF CBD AND TERPENES FOUND IN THE WHOLE PLANT AND IS STILL CLASSIFIED AS INDUSTRIAL HEMP

WIPO "industrial hemp"
Method to grow, enhance the bioactive chemistry of, harvest and manufacture a derivative of Industrial hemp cannabis within the regulations set out by the government of the jurisdiction it is grown in, compliant with existing regulations controlling the growing, harvesting and processing of hemp, (which is defined as a low THC cultivar normally grown for food and fiber and not as a psychoactive drug source) such that a derivative product which contains all of naturally occurring or agronomically stimulated level of cannabinoids and terpenes termed bio-actives from cannabis whole plant are conserved in the derivative in such a manner that the derivative is classified as a food supplement or food derived from hemp grain and not a controlled drug. The method used to create a combination of hemp biomass and grain in a ratio such that the combined product is classified as a grain and not "leaf and bract" (marijuana) is the novel idea. Namely, a method to create the equivalent hemp products (low THC content cannabis) , with the option of enhancing the CBD/THC ratio while insuring the product remains classified as hemp. This involves using specific agronomic inputs and a specific method of harvest and processing so that government regulations do not deem the product the equivalent of marijuana. One embodiment utilizes harvesting the crop so that all the biomass goes in the field into the grain tank or harvester container and subsequently through mechanical processing to reduce the ratio of grain to biomass to just over 50% grain and just under 50% biomass on a dry matter basis.A second embodiment involves increasing the CBD content of the biomass fraction of the harvested grain so that the relative percentage of THC is reduced while the CBD content is increased in hemp plants whose seed is 10-20% filled and harvesting the crop and processing without any conditioning or mechanically setting the ratio of the seed to biomass weight. This embodiment involves processing the biomass together with the grain so that entering the final processing step the weight of grain is greater than 50% and the weight of biomass is less than 50% on a dry matter basis.
