A surface layer of the functional gradient layer knitted fabric is obtained by waving chemical fiber filaments. A middle layer and an inner layer of the knitted fabric are obtained by waving blended yarns. The blended yarns are blended yarns of hemp fibers, cotton fibers and chemical fibers. In theblended yarns, the mass ratio of the hemp fibers, the cotton fibers and the chemical fibers can be 30-50:40-30:30-20. The chemical fibers are at least one of polyester, nylon, spandex, viscose fibersand modal fibers. The quality percentage of the hemp fibers is 30 percent to 50 percent. The chemical fiber filaments is covered on the surface layer of a hemp knitted fabric of the functional gradient layer knitted fabric and the preparation method thereof, which increases the strength of the fabric, improves the quick drying and air permeability of the fabric, and improves the anti-fuzzing andpilling performance of the fabric. The inner layer of the hemp knitted fabric closes to skin with cotton yarns, enhances the sweat absorption, dry and wholesomeness of the fabric, and quickly guides water away after absorbing water.
