The invention relates to the technical field of dining, in particular to a snack food and a making method thereof. The snack food comprises an outer staple food part and an inner non-staple food part,wherein the outer staple food part is used for clamping the inner non-staple food part; the inner non-staple food part comprises a non-staple food and non-staple food glue for stably binding the non-staple food; and the non-staple food glue is dispersed in the non-staple food. The snack food has the beneficial effects that the non-staple food glue can shape the non-staple food which is made intoa cooked product, and low-temperature storage is performed, so that the condition that the outer staple food is in much contact with cooking liquor to influence mouth feel is avoided, long-term storage can be realized, and Chinese snack foods are sold in the manner of a take-away technological process or applied to an automatic selling device.
