The food material management method comprises the steps that data of a food material in each food material can in a food material cabinet is acquired, the food material data includes food material basic data and food material picture data, and according to the food material basic data, the freshness retaining storage time, the freshness retaining storage conditions and nutritional ingredient data of the food materials are obtained through analysis and are displayed on an external terminal interface; according to the freshness retaining storage time and the freshness retaining storage conditions, the food materials are stored through the food material cans, and according to the nutritional ingredient data, a nutrition recipe on that day is collocated and displayed on the external terminal interface; and the food materials for the nutrition recipe on that day are put into a food material box, and the kids perform food material intake according to the food materials in the food material box. According to the intelligent food materialmanagement system and the food material management method assisting the kids in complementary food intake, by means of intelligent coordination of the intelligent food material cabinet, the food material box and an external terminal, the nutrition recipe is automatically generated, the intelligent management of the kid complementary food is achieved according to the nutrition recipe, and the scientificity of kid complementary food intake is improved.
