The method includes the following steps that: a remote server is provided to analyze the food characteristics of a food picture provided by a user; food characteristic parameters corresponding to the food characteristics are obtained through a food characteristic parameter comparison table provided by a dedicated machine learning module according to the food characteristics; specific food corresponding to the food picture is estimated according to the food characteristic parameters; difference values of the food characteristic parameters and the preset characteristic parameters of the specific food are calculated according to the preset characteristic parameters of the specific food provided by a nutrition database; if the difference values are smaller than or equal to preset thresholds, it is determined that food in the food picture is indeed the specific food; and the main color area of the specific food in the food picture is calculated, and the nutrition numerical value of the food is calculated according to the main color area. With the simple operation of the user required, the healthy diet management method can provide a more accurate food nutrition assessment by utilizing the dedicated machine learning module and nutrition database.
