The overtime food returning system comprises a food returning setting module, a food delivery reminding module, a food returning notification module, a food returning execution module and an overtime food returning apology module; a food supplier can be reminded to deliver food; and when the time of food delivering is later than the time limit of food delivering, the step of food returning is automatically carried out for a customer, a food returning notice is sent to the customer and the food supplier, and a letter of apology can be automatically sent to the customer according to a template of letter of apology set by the food supplier. During the application of the invention, the customer does not need to manually return food when the time of meeting the food ordering request is later than the time limit of food delivery, and the food returning system can return the food automatically; the food supplier can receive the reminding of food delivery and the notice of food returning, and can conveniently send the letter of apology for overtime food returning to the customer. Therefore, the invention solves the problem that the customer can not automatically return food when the time of meeting the food ordering request is later than the time limit of food delivery, as well as the problem that the efficiency of the food supplier on sending the letter of apology for overtime food returning to the customer is low.
