The (meth)allyl halide is at least partially renewable and non-fossil. A (co)polymer can be obtained from the bio-sourced (meth)allylsulfonate alkali salt. The (co)polymer can be used in a method for enhanced oil and/or gas recovery by sweeping a subterranean formation.
