Sustainability movement combats the huge carbon footprint that fast fashion has created by reducing CO2 and other greenhouse gas emission. Environmentalists have been calling forth industries to incorporate sustainability principles into their production processes. Untreated effluents containing heavy metals are being released into rivers from nearby factories, affecting the health of people who live along the polluted rivers.
