PURPOSE: A method for recycling food waste is provided to prevent environmental pollution due to food waste and recycle food waste into an energy source by carbonizing food waste, mixing the carbonized food waste with coal and a hardener, and molding the mixture, thereby manufacturing a carbonized solid fuel, and maximize waste recycling efficiency by using incinerating heat of refuse derived fuel as heat consumed in the drying and carbonization processes of food waste. CONSTITUTION: A method for recycling food waste comprises: a step(S201) of injecting food waste into a food waste hopper of drying equipment, and passing the injected food waste through a first drying process to lower a water content of food waste from about 80% to about 40 to 50%; a step(S202) of moving the first dried food waste to pulverizing equipment to pulverize the first dried food waste; a step(S203) of performing a second drying process of the pulverized food waste in the drying equipment to dry the pulverized food waste, thereby lowering a water content of food waste to about 20 to 30%; a step(S204) of performinga carbonization process of supplying heat into a carbonization part and rotating a screw rotary shaft, thereby uniformly carbonizing the food waste at the same time while agitating and moving forward the food waste by screw blades; a step(S205) of simultaneously supplying the carbonized food waste into a mixing unit, and supplying coal into the mixing unit through other path; a step(S206) of additionally supplying a hardener into the mixing unit to improve mechanical strength and solidification characteristics of a mixture of the carbonized food waste and the coal; and a step(S207) of heating a mixture of the carbonized food waste, coal, hardener, and steam, molding the heated mixture into a predetermined shape, and drying the molded article to manufacture a carbonized solid fuel. Further, the hardener is made by mixing softener, waste paper, clay and sand. ©KIPO 2008
