Fuente: WIPO Food Portada The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating food waste, in which food waste discharged from a sink in homes or eateries is primarily and secondarily pulverized to atomize the food waste, microorganisms are introduced into the atomized food waste to decompose the food waste, and then, the decomposed food waste is discharged through sewerage. Thus, the food waste may be hygienically and easily treated. The apparatus for treating food waste includes: a food waste collection box disposed in a drain of a sink to collect food waste discharged from the sink; a first food waste treatment unit coupled to the food waste collection box to primarily pulverize the food waste put through the food waste collection box to discharge the pulverized food waste; and a second food waste treatment unit in which the food waste primarily pulverized by the first food waste treatment unit and discharged together with water is secondarily pulverized, microorganisms are introduced into the primarily pulverized food waste to decompose the food waste and to precipitate and stir the food waste in which the microorganisms are introduced, and then, the food waste having a relatively large particle size is filtered and the atomized food waste is discharged together with water through a drain.
